At New York Comic Con on October 8, Kevin Smith made a surprise appearance to unveil Jay and Silent Bob's Joint Venture, a mature cozy farm simulation game from Nitrate Games. The event featured the game's first public gameplay, a full trailer, and revealed new characters and features.
Joint Venture is slated for release in late Spring 2027 on Steam and PC, with a console version also planned for 2027. This game offers a raunchy take on the cozy farming genre, incorporating elements expected from Jay and Silent Bob's universe. Players will build and expand their operations while interacting with familiar faces from Kevin Smith's films.
Nitrate Games co-founder Montana Sommese stated that the game serves as a sequel, continuing the narrative of the View Askewniverse after the events of the movies. Players can befriend and engage with characters including Dante, Randal, Veronica from Clerks; Brodie and T.S. Quint from Mallrats; Holden, Banky, Hooper, and Alyssa from Chasing Amy; Azrael and Serendipity from Dogma; Becky and Elias from Clerks II; and the ever-present Mooby.
Nitrate Games, based in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, has six titles in development. The company is focusing on creating new twists for popular game genres using 80s, 90s, and early 2000s film and TV brands, alongside original concepts. This approach aims to bring comic book sensibilities to indie games, mirroring the rise of independent comic publishers.
