Jay Duffy, son of Boyzone member Keith Duffy, is generating buzz for his appearance in the steamy new BBC drama, 'The Walsh Sisters.' This marks his return to acting after a 14-year absence, following his previous role on Channel 4's Hollyoaks. Duffy plays Luke, the love interest to the main character Rachel, who is depicted as a drug addict.
The six-part series is based on the bestselling books by Irish author Marian Keyes, centering on the lives of the five Walsh sisters. The adaptation weaves together storylines from different books, including Rachel's rehabilitation journey and sister Anna's bereavement. Duffy acknowledged the challenge of stepping into a role with a pre-existing fan base, admitting he didn't initially feel he fit the 'rock and roll punk guy' description but was pleased the contemporary setting of the series worked in his favor.
Duffy's passion for acting was ignited by watching his father, Keith Duffy, on the set of Coronation Street. He previously starred as Declan Brady on Hollyoaks from 2011 to 2012 and has since appeared in other TV shows like Derry Girls and Northern Lights.
