Reality television personality Jax Taylor has responded after his ex-wife, Brittany Cartwright, was granted a domestic violence restraining order against him on Thursday, August 27th. Cartwright alleged a pattern of domestic violence, with abuse occurring as recently as August 26th. Taylor was ordered to maintain a minimum distance of 100 yards from Cartwright, her home, and vehicle, and has been denied visitation with their 5-year-old son, Cruz, until a September 17th hearing.
On Monday, August 31st, Taylor, 47, filed his own restraining order request against Cartwright, 37, denying her claims. He expressed fear of retaliation and social media denigration. Taylor alleged Cartwright interfered with his potential employment on "Special Forces" after his treatment, claiming her contact led to his "abruptly cancelled" casting. He also cited a recent television appearance by Cartwright where she discussed his absence from son Cruz's life, which Taylor claims was "knowingly false" as it was Cartwright's custodial weekend.
Further allegations from Taylor include two "prospective" business partners declining to work with him, citing "the buzz surrounding [Jax's] name right now." He stated that while Cartwright alleged physical abuse, both were "verbally abusive to each other" during their relationship, which ended in February 2024. Taylor claims Cartwright "regularly threatened and intimidated" him, used degrading names, and "physically attacked" him on "numerous occasions."
Taylor requested a no-contact order, requiring Cartwright to stay 100 yards away from him, his home, and vehicle, with communication limited to matters concerning their son. He also asked that she be restrained from contacting his employers "for the purpose of harassing, disparaging or interfering with [his] employment." Cartwright has not yet filed a response to Taylor's request.
