Jason Momoa has become the newest Playmaker for Lego's 'Never Stop Playing' campaign, an initiative designed to help families rediscover the importance of play. This campaign aligns with the UN's International Day of Play, celebrated annually on June 11. The actor, who emphasizes the role of play in his own upbringing and family life, wants to encourage creativity and connection through building.
New research from the Lego Group indicates that five hours of playtime per week significantly enhances family happiness. However, a substantial 44% of families do not achieve this, and over 60 million families reportedly do not play together at all. Common obstacles cited include work, screen time, chores, cost, and a lack of safe play spaces.
Momoa's involvement with Lego extends to his past roles, including voicing Aquaman in 'The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part' and having minifigures created for his characters Duncan Idaho, Garrett Garrison, and Lobo. He sees partnering with Lego as a way to connect with his children's past and celebrate cherished memories, such as building the Millennium Falcon together.
