Since the end of Supernatural in 2020, stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have actively pursued new acting and directing opportunities, keeping them prominent on television screens. Padalecki continued his partnership with The CW, leading the reboot of 'Walker, Texas Ranger' from 2020 to 2024, and even made a cameo in its prequel, 'Walker: Independence'.
Ackles explored new genres, notably with his role as Soldier Boy in 'The Boys,' which led to a prequel series and a guest spot on the spinoff 'Gen V.' He also reunited with Padalecki and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke on 'The Boys' fifth season.
Padalecki is also set to star in an unnamed medical drama for CBS, with a writers' room opened in late 2025. Meanwhile, Ackles has taken on roles in 'Big Sky' and 'Tracker,' the latter featuring a reunion with his 'Smallville' co-star Justin Hartley.
Both actors have also revisited elements of the Supernatural legacy. Ackles narrated and executive produced 'The Winchesters,' a prequel series exploring their characters' parents. Ackles also stars in the Prime Video series 'Countdown.'
