Jared Leto's Military Base Home Sells for $12M

Jared Leto's distinctive former Los Angeles property, once a military installation, has been sold for $12 million. The estate, known as Lookout Mountain Air Force Station, was originally constructed in 1941. It later functioned as a secret Air Force film studio, producing military training films and Cold War newsreels between 1947 and 1969.

Leto acquired the 1.4-acre compound in 2015 for $5 million and sold it in May 2026, reportedly yielding a $7 million difference before expenses. The property boasts 14,649 square feet with six bedrooms and five bathrooms, distinct from conventional celebrity homes.

Notable figures like Bob Hope and Jimmy Stewart were associated with productions made at the site. The sale occurred amid sexual misconduct allegations against Leto, which he has denied. The buyer's identity remains undisclosed, and the future use of the former military film studio is unknown.
