A new song has captured the top spot on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart, achieving considerable success in its first week of release. The track garnered over 520,000 physical sales, securing the No. 1 position on that metric alone, and also charted respectably in downloads and streaming.
Meanwhile, Sakanaction's 2012 hit 'Yoru no Odoriko' maintains its strong presence, holding steady at No. 2. This viral track has been a consistent performer, topping both streaming and video views for a second consecutive week, with notable increases across multiple metrics including karaoke and radio airplay.
Further down the chart, Cho Tokimeki Sendenbu's new single 'Dream Jumbo!' made its debut at No. 3 following its release on May 20. The group's effort launched with over 124,000 copies sold. M!LK's tracks also feature prominently, with 'Sukisugite Metsu!' at No. 4 and 'Bakuretsu Aishiteru' at No. 5.
THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE entered the chart at No. 9 with their song 'BLACK TOKYO,' demonstrating further diversity in the week's top performers. Billboard Japan is set to release its mid-year charts for 2026 on June 5. The Japan Hot 100 methodology integrates physical and digital sales, streaming, radio airplay, video views, and karaoke data.
