Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' Finally Set for July Release?
2 Jul
Summary
- Film's release delayed for nearly six months due to certification issues.
- Censor clearance expected this week, followed by Telugu and Hindi processes.
- July 16, July 23, or August 7 are potential release dates for the film.

Vijay's much-awaited film, 'Jana Nayagan,' is reportedly on the cusp of a confirmed release, with unconfirmed reports pointing to a July debut. The film faced a nearly six-month delay due to ongoing certification processes with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Recent industry updates suggest that 'Jana Nayagan' is expected to receive its CBFC certificate this week. Following the Tamil certification, the Telugu and Hindi censorship procedures will commence. Discussions with distributors are slated to begin immediately after the movie receives clearance.
The makers are reportedly targeting July 16 for the release, with July 23 as a backup. An alternative consideration is August 7, as July 31 is occupied by another film. An official announcement regarding the certification and release date is still pending.
The film's certification was previously withheld due to a complaint about scenes potentially hurting public sentiments. KVN Productions sought court intervention to expedite the process, but later agreed to send the film to the revising committee. Additionally, an HD print of the film was leaked online on April 9, leading to arrests.
Directed by H Vinoth, 'Jana Nayagan' is significant as it marks Vijay's final film appearance before he fully dedicates himself to his political commitments as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
