The 39th edition of the Jamshedpur book fair, a much-anticipated annual event, is currently underway and attracting large crowds of book enthusiasts. The 10-day fair, organized by the Tagore Society Jamshedpur, opened on November 14th and will run until November 23rd at the Rabindra Bhavan.
The book fair has become a cultural hub for the city and surrounding towns, with visitors of all age groups flocking to the 79 stalls on display. Along with the student community, the fair has also drawn in academicians, poets, and writers, as well as families seeking to immerse themselves in the world of literature.
Offering a diverse selection of books catering to bibliophiles across age groups, the fair features 67 publishers, including 12 from the host city of Jamshedpur. Books in English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, and tribal languages such as Ho, Santhali, and Kurmali are all on display, providing a rich tapestry of literary offerings.
To inspire the next generation of readers and writers, the organizers have distributed free passes to 34 schools in the city, ensuring that the younger demographic is well-represented and engaged with the event.
