The 11th annual Jamrock Reggae Cruise will be headlined by Damian and Stephen Marley, sons of reggae icon Bob Marley. This year's voyage, scheduled from November 11 to November 16, will stop in Falmouth and Ocho Rios, Jamaica, marking a significant return after last year's disruption.
Last fall, Hurricane Melissa's impact prevented the cruise ship from docking in Jamaica, forcing it to sail to Cozumel, Mexico. Damian Marley expressed that the focus this year is on ensuring the cruise reaches Jamaica, highlighting its importance for showcasing the island's culture.
The "Welcome to Jamrock" singer, who launched the cruise in 2014, described the experience as "like a reggae Disneyland." The cruise has since upgraded to a larger ship to accommodate more patrons.
This year's voyage aboard the Norwegian Joy will feature a comprehensive lineup representing various Jamaican music genres, from veteran artists like Burning Spear to contemporary stars. Damian Marley emphasized the goal of providing a diverse spectrum of Jamaican music, ensuring an all-inclusive experience.
Preparations are underway, with Damian and Stephen Marley planning a collaborative set called the "Traffic Jam" set, featuring their popular joint songs. Damian also teased upcoming music, some of which has been in development for over a decade.
