Jamie Lee Curtis and Daniel Radcliffe recently reunited, marking 25 years since they appeared together in the 2001 film "The Tailor of Panama." Curtis, 67, shared during a TODAY show appearance that she hadn't seen Radcliffe, now 36, since he was a child on that set.
She recalled how, while filming in 2000, she saw Radcliffe by a pool and realized he looked exactly like the child on the cover of the Harry Potter books. At the time, Radcliffe's parents were in discussions about him taking on the role that would bring him worldwide fame, but they were hesitant.
Curtis's observation played a part in convincing Radcliffe's parents, who had initially turned down the offer for him to star in seven films. Director Chris Columbus had also been impressed, but parental concerns about travel and the magnitude of the role persisted.
A compromise was eventually reached for two films, with production in the UK. After the success of the initial movies, Radcliffe signed on for the entire series, starring as Harry Potter from age 11 to 21.
