James Wan to Direct 'Gangster, Cop, Devil' Remake

James Wan has been tapped by Paramount Pictures to direct a reimagining of the critically acclaimed 2019 South Korean crime thriller, "The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil." The original film, which premiered at Cannes, featured a unique alliance between a gangster and a cop to hunt down a serial killer.
Don Lee (Ma Dong-seok), who starred in the original movie, is attached to this new project. Lee is also serving as a producer for his company, Big Punch Global. The screenplay is being written by Shay Hatten, with Oscar-winning writer Brian Helgeland onboard as an executive producer. Helgeland previously wrote "Mystic River" and "LA Confidential."
