McAvoy Punched by Stranger at Bar

Actor James McAvoy recently recounted a startling incident where he was unexpectedly punched at a bar. The event took place last year during the Toronto International Film Festival, where McAvoy was attending. He was celebrating a successful film sale with his producers at Charlotte's Room bar when an intoxicated man, being removed by security, struck McAvoy forcefully in the back of the head.

McAvoy described his immediate shock and his producers' quick action to restrain him as he attempted to confront the assailant. He also shared the peculiar detail of the attacker shouting his origin as a pre-fight ritual, to which McAvoy retorted with his own hometown. The actor confirmed the incident occurred on September 8th and that he ultimately handled the altercation with humor.
