Klay stated he has no personal interest in makeup or Charles' brand, finding the automatic follow perplexing. This alleged involuntary following surfaced after Charles faced backlash in May for reportedly mocking a former Spirit Airlines employee seeking financial assistance. Following this controversy, reports indicated Charles began losing followers.

Klay shared a video demonstrating his search, which revealed he was following Charles. He emphasized his surprise, as he had no intention of following the influencer. Klay further alleged that he had to attempt unfollowing Charles' account multiple times before the action registered.
