Rajinikanth's "Jailer 2" has achieved a staggering Rs 200 crore in worldwide box office collections within just two days of its release. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial saw a slight dip in its India net collection on Friday, earning Rs 35.60 crore compared to Rs 59.70 crore on its opening day.
The film's international performance has been a key driver of its success, with Rs 40 crore added from overseas markets on Friday alone. This surge contributed to a total overseas gross collection of Rs 97 crore, propelling the worldwide total to Rs 209.10 crore.
While the Tamil version led domestic earnings, the Hindi release faced hurdles. Multiplex chains reportedly refused to screen the Hindi version due to Sun Pictures' insistence on a less-than-four-week OTT release window, conflicting with the exhibitors' demand for an eight-week gap.
