The JAFF Market, a key component of the Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival, has announced its selections for two major programs: JAFF Future Project (JFP) and JAFF IP Connection (JIPCon). The JFP program will feature 11 diverse feature film projects, while JIPCon will focus on 10 intellectual properties ripe for adaptation.
Among the selected JFP projects are Boo Junfeng's "Trinity" and Sidharta Tata's "Slaughterground." "Trinity" stands out with its extensive international collaboration, involving production countries from Taiwan to the Philippines. The remaining nine JFP projects are in development, representing countries such as Singapore and Australia, with themes encompassing family, faith, identity, and migration.
In parallel, the JIPCon program will showcase 10 intellectual properties, with a strong Indonesian representation including "Komarong" and the board game "Mantra." This initiative, alongside the JFP, aims to connect filmmakers and IP creators with potential partners for development, financing, and international distribution, thereby strengthening Indonesia's position in the global film landscape.
