Scottish Star Jacob Alon Triumphs at Brit Awards

Scottish artist Jacob Alon has been named the winner of the Critics' Choice prize, a significant accolade preceding next month's Brit Awards.

Alon, who hails from Dunfermline, achieved this honor alongside fellow nominees Rose Gray and Sienna Spiro. This win follows a successful 2025, during which Alon became the first Scottish recipient of the BBC Introducing Artist Of The Year Award and was recognized by BBC Radio 6 Music. Their debut album, 'In Limerence,' also secured a nomination for the Mercury Prize.

The Brit Awards nominations are slated for announcement on January 21, with the main awards ceremony set to broadcast live on February 28. Previous Critics' Choice winners, including Adele and Sam Smith, have gone on to achieve substantial global success, highlighting the prize's role as a career launchpad for emerging talent.
