In her memoir, "I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie," Jaclyn Smith detailed her absence from her "Charlie's Angels" co-star Farrah Fawcett's funeral. Fawcett died in June 2009 at age 62, after a battle with anal cancer.
Smith's own mother, then in her 90s, was also in declining health. Despite her mother's insistence that she attend Fawcett's funeral, Smith rushed back to Houston upon arrival in Los Angeles. She had received word that her mother's condition had worsened significantly.
Upon her return, Smith found her mother on a respirator. Her mother remained on life support for months before passing away in August 2009 at age 95. Smith described this period as deeply traumatic and an unfathomable loss.
