The altercation occurred when Osbourne visited their shared former residence. Stelly's new partner, identified as actor-model Michael G. Gabel, reportedly intervened during an exchange between Jack and Lisa.

Reports indicate that Gabel attempted to mediate, but the situation escalated, resulting in Osbourne allegedly punching Gabel. Police were called, and a battery report was taken. Despite the incident, Gabel reportedly decided not to press charges against Osbourne. Osbourne is said to have been immediately regretful and apologized for his actions, which Gabel accepted.

The divorce between Osbourne and Stelly, who share three daughters, followed nearly six years of marriage. Stelly cited irreconcilable differences when filing for divorce in May 2018. In the same month, allegations surfaced that Jack Osbourne had cheated on Lisa Stelly.
