Jack Lowden has emerged as a leading candidate to portray James Bond in the upcoming reboot of the 007 franchise. Amidst speculation about several popular young actors, television presenter Richard Osman shared that Lowden is among those being seriously considered.
Osman described Lowden as having "real Daniel Craig energy" and believes he would be an incredible Bond. If cast, Lowden would be the first Scottish actor to play 007 since Sean Connery. He is also known for his role as River Cartwright in Apple TV+'s "Slow Horses."
Producer Amy Pascal indicated that an announcement regarding Daniel Craig's successor could be made before the end of 2026. The next James Bond film is slated for a 2028 theatrical release, with Denis Villeneuve reportedly attached to direct and Steven Knight writing the screenplay. Auditions for the coveted role reportedly began in May.
