Italian officials have announced the cancellation of concerts planned for Kanye West and Travis Scott in Reggio Emilia during July. The decision was officially communicated by Prefect Salvatore Angieri on Friday, citing significant public order and security concerns.

This action was prompted by a request from the local Jewish community to call off West's scheduled performance. The community's leader, Nicoletta Uzzielli, had advocated for the show to be replaced with an event that would highlight music's role as a unifying element. Kanye West has previously faced widespread criticism and bans for making antisemitic, racist, and pro-Nazi remarks.
