Isha Koppikar Defends 'Andhbhakt' Remark for India

Actor Isha Koppikar has addressed comments twisting her recent statement where she called herself a 'proud andhbhakt.' She posted a clarification on social media, asserting that blind devotion to one's country is akin to being 'blind in love.' Koppikar stressed that this devotion is for India and its progress, not for any political party, and she retains the right to question government policies.

In a video, Koppikar explained her stance, stating, "If it is bhakti (devotion) to love your country and want to see it progress, then yes, I am proud to be a bhakt andhbhakt." She added that such pride in India is not something to be ashamed of, encouraging respect and contribution to one's homeland. Actress Kangana Ranaut publicly supported Koppikar's views on patriotism.
