- She is set to star in a new film directed by Dario Argento.
- Her new comedy, 'All About Corinne,' premiered at Busan Film Festival.
At the Busan International Film Festival, acclaimed French actress Isabelle Huppert declared that artificial intelligence has not yet usurped her acting roles. She expressed this sentiment during a press conference for Marc Fitoussi's comedy "All About Corinne," featured in the festival's Gala Presentation.
Huppert acknowledged AI as a theoretical concern but drew parallels to previous industry fears, such as the demise of cinemas or vinyl records. She remains optimistic, stating, "So far I've seen that it's still my face on screen, and I hope that continues."
The celebrated actress also confirmed her participation in an upcoming film by director Dario Argento, anticipating filming to commence next year. Director Marc Fitoussi, who is collaborating with Huppert for the fourth time on "All About Corinne," hinted at a new project inspired by Joan Crawford, with a potential remake featuring Huppert.
"All About Corinne" follows an aspiring extra named Corinne Maclou, portrayed by Huppert. The film, which premiered earlier in Locarno, is slated for release in South Korea next spring. Huppert found playing an extra straightforward, crediting the screenplay's strength and noting that acting is a profession regardless of specific roles.
Fitoussi elaborated on the film's genesis, which began as a concept to cast a prominent actress in a role of an aspiring actor. He and other actors, including Sandrine Kiberlain, were approached before the script was finalized. The director drew inspiration from his 2008 documentary "Des Figurants" for the theme of invisible characters.
Huppert arrived in Busan after a reading in Seoul with Lee Hye-young, following their performance of a novel by Han Kang. This marked her third visit to Busan, while it was Fitoussi's first time in Korea. Huppert also holds the distinction of being the first female president of the Cinémathèque Française.
