Irrfan Khan, revered as one of India's finest actors, passed away in 2020 at the age of 53. His final days were spent at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where he was treated for a colon infection and a neuroendocrine tumor, a diagnosis he received in 2018. He was last seen in the comedy-drama 'Angrezi Medium', a sequel to 'Hindi Medium'.
His 'Qarib Qarib Singlle' co-star, Parvathy, recently shared poignant memories. Reflecting on his passing, she noted society's difficulty in processing grief, emphasizing the importance of allowing oneself to mourn. Parvathy recalled Khan's vibrant spirit, quoting him as saying, 'It is just the beginning.'
Khan began his career on television, later making his film debut in the 1988 Oscar-nominated 'Salaam Bombay!'. His versatile performances spanned acclaimed films like 'Maqbool', 'Piku', and 'The Lunchbox', as well as international projects such as 'Life of Pi' and 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.
Despite his illness, Khan remained hopeful, sharing in 2018, 'I hope to be back with more stories to tell.' He is survived by his wife, Sutapa Sikdar, and their two sons, Babil and Ayan.
