The movie stars Rami Malek as Jimmy George, a prominent theater figure in late 1980s New York. The synopsis describes Jimmy as someone who, despite having a loving partner, is driven by a powerful will to live and create before his impending death.
Co-written by Sachs and Mauricio Zacharias, the film also features Rebecca Hall and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Produced by Big Creek Projects and SBS Productions, 'The Man I Love' is a return to the Cannes competition for Sachs.
