The season culminates with Mark Grayson, also known as Invincible, facing the formidable Grand Regent Thragg. Following the destruction of the planet Viltrum, Thragg proposes a chilling deal: he will spare Earth if Mark allows Viltrumites to secretly integrate and repopulate the planet.

Actor Lee Pace, who brings Thragg to life, was Kirkman's ideal choice for the role, having envisioned Pace as the character for years.

This season also saw a notable adaptation choice with the gender-swapping of the character Tech Jacket to Zoe Thompson, voiced by Zoey Deutch. Kirkman explained this change aimed to bring new perspectives and address the historical lack of diversity in the comic's early character designs.
