In the coming years, viewers in French-speaking Canada will be able to witness the high-stakes culinary challenge '24 in 24: Last Chef Standing'. Quebecor Content-owned TVA has ordered a 12-episode series of the format, which was originally developed for Food Network. The series, set to launch in the spring of 2026, will be produced by Pixcom.
The '24 in 24' format puts 24 chefs through a grueling 24-hour marathon, testing their speed, artistry, and adaptability as they race to impress the hosts and guest judges. This marks the first international remake of the format, which has already seen success in the USA with a second hit season and a third on the way.
Separately, the Irish public broadcaster RTÉ has bolstered its acquisitions team with the addition of veteran factual commissioner Gráinne McAleer. McAleer, who previously oversaw the hit series 'The Traitors Ireland', will join RTÉ in January 2026, reporting to the Director of Acquisitions & Co-Productions, Dermot Horan. Her expertise is expected to play a key role in strengthening RTÉ Player's content lineup as more audiences shift to streaming-first viewing.
