Summary
- New characters Keikou and Keishou are added to the anime.
- The story continues with the Harvest Festival and a ritual accident.
- A body-swap curse recurs, leading to Reirin's abduction.

The TV anime "Though I Am an Inept Villainess" is set to return for its second cour, subtitled "The First Royal Outing" Arc, in January 2027. The series, based on Nakamura Satsuki's light novel, will introduce new voice actors for key roles. Nakamura Yuichi will voice Keikou, Reirin's eldest brother, and Toki Shunichi will portray Keishou, her second-eldest brother. Kobayashi Chiaki joins as Unran, a village chief.
The new arc picks up as the Shu clan's southern territory prepares for the Harvest Festival. Despite facing challenges as a guardian, Keigetsu moves forward with preparations, supported by Reirin. However, an accident during the ritual disrupts their plans, reactivating the body-swap curse and sending them back into each other's bodies. In the ensuing chaos, Reirin is abducted.
Her brothers, Kou Keikou and Kou Keishou, take charge of the investigation to find an unidentified figure framing Keigetsu. This follows an earlier plotline where a jealous Keigetsu used banned sorcery to swap bodies with Reirin, a move that ultimately benefited neither of them.
The first part of the anime concluded with the body-swap curse largely resolved and Reirin and Keigetsu having developed a deeper understanding of each other.
