The mystery horror film "Bisikan Desa Gringsing: Whispers of Fatimah" has unveiled its first-look video and is slated for a September 2026 theatrical debut in Indonesia. Produced by Mandela Pictures and OMG Studios, the movie centers on a young woman named Hesti, who becomes entangled in the legacy of Fatimah's restless spirit while searching for her missing father.
This production is notable for being one of the first Indonesian horror features to employ virtual production technology and an LED volumetric stage. Instead of traditional filming methods, the crew utilized high-resolution LED walls to display digital environments in real-time, recreating the eerie atmosphere of the cursed village.
Directed by Ivander Tedjasukmana, the film is a co-production involving Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia. It stars Aghniny Haque as Hesti and Fatmah Nadhi as the spectral Fatimah. The ensemble cast also includes Surya Saputra and Kiki Narendra, among others.
"Bisikan Desa Gringsing" will premiere in Indonesian cinemas on September 24, 2026. Following its Indonesian release, the film is expected to open in Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, and Azerbaijan. Post-production is currently in its final stages.
