The Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival (JAFF) Market has opened in Yogyakarta, marking a significant growth phase with its second edition. Market director Linda Gozali announced a substantial increase in participation, now featuring 116 exhibitors and over 1,400 accreditation badges, positioning the market as a structured and future-oriented industry platform.
Gozali emphasized JAFF Market's role as a strategic connector, bridging Indonesian projects, talents, and investors with the regional and global film community. Ahmad Mahendra from Indonesia's Ministry of Culture affirmed the market's importance for international visibility, detailing ministry initiatives that have supported 85 filmmakers at international festivals and facilitated recognition for numerous Indonesian films.
Sultan Baktiar Najamudin highlighted the market's reflection of Indonesia's cinematic journey and its economic contribution. He evoked the nation's diverse landscapes as inspiration for filmmakers, stating that "The world is waiting," encouraging young talent to seize the opportunities presented on this "greatest cinematic stage."
