Indonesian Film Agency Elects New Chair Ahead of Cannes

Fauzan Zidni, a film producer with extensive experience at The Walt Disney Company Indonesia, has been elected chair of the Indonesian Film Agency (BPI). He will lead the organization for a four-year term.
The BPI is preparing for its inaugural international delegation at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2026. Zidni has appointed Nazira C. Noer as secretary general and Yulia Evina Bhara as head of international cooperation, both of whom will attend the festival.
Zidni stated that Indonesia's cinema attendance has grown post-pandemic, with local films holding significant market share. The agency's focus will be on enhancing global market access for Indonesian cinema via international festivals and co-productions. Minister of Culture Fadli Zon highlighted BPI's role in bridging the government and film industry, expecting it to strengthen the ecosystem and create opportunities for talent.
BPI, established in 2014, advises the government on film policy and facilitates international collaborations. Zidni expressed keen interest in forging partnerships for co-creation, co-financing, and co-presenting regional stories globally. Notable film industry professionals Noer and Bhara bring substantial experience in marketing, publicity, and international film circuits.
