In a significant move, India's WAVES Bazaar is set to make its first appearance at MIPCOM, the prestigious international TV market, in October 2025. The online platform and India-based summit was established to connect buyers and sellers from across the entertainment business, including film, TV, and video games.
The WAVES initiative is being backed by a delegation from India's Consulate General in Marseille, who will be present in Cannes to support the endeavor. Key officials, including Niraj Kumar, Director of TV Broadcasting at the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Vikram Singh Malik, Director of WAVES OTT, will also be in attendance.
The WAVES summit was first held this past May, and the organizers have been actively promoting the event and the platform at various industry gatherings, including the Toronto and Busan Film Festivals, as well as the recently concluded Iberseries conference in Madrid. The goal is to showcase India's creative diversity across television, films, animation, gaming, music, and immersive media to global markets, particularly in Europe.
