Curated by historian Mrinalini Venkateswaran, the exhibition draws from DAG's extensive collection of modern and early Indian art.
This display encompasses over 130 artworks and historical objects. It thoughtfully integrates European art from the 18th and 19th centuries with pieces by both renowned and emerging Indian artists. The exhibition is structured into eight distinct thematic sections, each offering a unique perspective on the path to national sovereignty.
DAG CEO Ashish Anand highlighted art's role in preserving history and offering diverse interpretations. Sanjiv Kumar, founder of Arthshila, emphasized the exhibition's significance in Patna, acknowledging Bihar's vital contributions to India's freedom movement and its intellectual traditions. The exhibition is scheduled to conclude on November 23.
