This marks a substantial increase from the ₹11,833 crores earned in 2024, as reported by the Ormax Box Office Report: 2025. This performance signals a robust recovery and growth for the Indian film industry.

Dhurandhar stands as the year's undisputed champion, being the only film to achieve over ₹1000 crores in domestic collections. Remarkably, it accomplished this feat solely through its Hindi release. Kantara: A Legend Chapter - 1 followed in second place with ₹724 crores, bolstered by positive word-of-mouth and the legacy of its predecessor.

Chhaava secured the third spot with ₹708.50 crores, while Saiyaara surprised as a sleeper hit, earning ₹409.18 crores despite a modest budget. Even with anticipated films like Rajinikanth's Coolie earning ₹325 crores, the year was defined by diverse successes and unexpected triumphs.

Hindi cinema experienced a significant win in 2025, contributing ₹5504 crores to the total box office, an 18% increase from 2024.
