Prithwiraj Mali, a sculptor from Vadodara, has gained international acclaim, being the only artist from India invited to a prestigious global ceramics symposium and residency in the Netherlands. The event, "A World of Ceramics - Common Ground," marks 40 years of Galerie Terra Delft and will run from May 23 to July 4, 2026, at the Oude Kerk in Delft. Mali is one of eight invited artists from across five continents and will create work on-site.
Mali has been preparing for this significant showcase for six months at his Vadodara studio. He will spend nearly two months in Delft, from April 7 to May 23, 2026, working at the Appel & Peer Studio. There, he will collaborate with other international artists to develop large-scale ceramic installations exploring clay as a universal medium.
The "Common Ground" theme delves into how clay connects cultures and addresses contemporary global issues like climate change, conflict, and migration, while emphasizing shared human experiences. This event is organized by Galerie Terra Delft in partnership with Stichting Keramiek Promotie Delft, positioning it as a key platform for contemporary ceramics.
