Notable additions to the Board include acclaimed actors Suniel Shetty and Pankaj Tripathi, actress Preity Zinta, filmmaker Priyadarshan, and Grammy Award-winning musician Ricky Kej. Other distinguished members appointed are Hansraj Hans, Rupali Ganguly, and Nila Madhab Panda.
This restructuring aligns with the Cinematograph Act, 1952, and the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules, 2024. The CBFC plays a crucial role in the examination and certification of films intended for public exhibition. The notification was officially issued from New Delhi on September 16, 2026.
