Dave Franco and O'Shea Jackson Jr. are set to deliver a wild ride in the upcoming comedy "Idiots." The film sees the duo portraying two unqualified men tasked with transporting a rebellious teenager to a rehabilitation facility.
Their straightforward assignment quickly devolves into dangerous mayhem as the "maniac" teen, played by Mason Thames, leads them into trouble. This includes encounters with criminals and other chaotic scenarios, as revealed in the recently released trailer.
Macon Blair directs and co-stars in the film, which he described as a "pile-up of dynamite actors." He highlighted the blend of broad slapstick comedy, chase movie antics, and an underlying hopeful friendship story.
"Idiots" held its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January under a different title. Franco and Jackson expressed their comfort and trust working together, allowing them to take creative risks for the project.
The comedy is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 28.
