In 2025, Ibrahim Ali Khan, the son of Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, made his highly anticipated debut with the film "Nadaaniyan," which was released on an OTT platform. However, the film was met with brutal criticism, and Ibrahim, along with his co-star Khushi Kapoor, faced intense trolling for their performances.
In a recent interview, Ibrahim has now opened up about the backlash and the constant comparisons he faces with his father, Saif Ali Khan. Ibrahim confessed that he has been told for years that he looks just like his father, and this has become a standard he feels he needs to live up to. "When you're constantly fed something like that, that becomes a standard for you. You want to be more and more like him," he said.
Despite coming from a family of acclaimed actors, including his grandmother Sharmila Tagore and his stepmother Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ibrahim admits that he often struggles with self-doubt and insecurity. "I usually always have self-doubt. Whenever I feel unsure, all this (lineage) is a reminder of who's at home. 'You're Saif Ali Khan's kid. Bebo's (stepmom Kareena Kapoor) in your family. You should be able to do it. You should be smashing it, man,'" he confessed.
After the disappointing response to "Nadaaniyan," Ibrahim acknowledged that the hype around his debut had "dropped real bad" and that he had been "trolled nonstop." However, he remains determined to prove himself, and his next project, a sports drama called "Diler," is set to release soon.
