Hulu Series 'Good American Family' Gets Anthology Season 2

Hulu's limited series "Good American Family" will continue with a second season, transitioning to an anthology format. The upcoming installment is set to focus on the widely publicized case of Lorena Bobbitt. This case garnered intense media scrutiny in 1993 when Lorena Bobbitt severed her husband John Bobbitt's penis. Lorena had alleged abuse and sexual assault by her husband throughout their marriage. She was subsequently acquitted by reason of insanity, while John Bobbitt was acquitted of marital sexual assault. The creative team from the first season, including series creator Katie Robbins and executive producer Ellen Pompeo, is anticipated to return for the new episodes. However, Ellen Pompeo is not expected to reprise her role as a performer.

The Lorena Bobbitt story has been the subject of other media adaptations. In 2019, Amazon Prime Video released a docuseries titled "Lorena," executive-produced by Jordan Peele, which featured interviews with both Lorena and John Bobbitt. More recently, Lifetime produced a scripted TV movie in 2020 called "I Was Lorena Bobbitt," starring Dani Montalvo and Luke Humphrey in the titular roles.
