In a significant move, Prime Video has announced a new original drama series titled 'Storm' (working title), which marks a foray into the streaming space for acclaimed Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan as a producer. The series is being developed under Roshan's production banner, HRX Films, in collaboration with Prime Video.
'Storm' will be created and directed by Ajitpal Singh, with the story developed by Singh alongside Francois Lunel and Swati Das. The series features a lead cast that includes Parvathy Thiruvothu, Alaya F, Srishti Shrivastava, Rrama Sharma, and Saba Azad. Production is expected to begin shortly.
Set in Mumbai, 'Storm' is described as a thriller drama involving multiple female protagonists. Gaurav Gandhi, Vice President of Prime Video's APAC and MENA regions, stated that the project reflects the platform's commitment to supporting both established and emerging talent in the Indian entertainment industry.
Roshan expressed his excitement about the opportunity to explore a new role as a producer in the digital content space, highlighting the compelling narrative and character depth as key reasons for backing the project. "What drew me to 'Storm' was the compelling world that Ajitpal has created. The story is raw, layered, and powerful, with unforgettable characters which will be essayed by incredibly talented actors," said Roshan.
