House of the Dragon Outshines Game of Thrones?

Set two centuries prior to the events of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon chronicles the Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons. This HBO prequel draws from George R.R. Martin's detailed history of the Targaryen dynasty, specifically his work "Fire & Blood."
