Ahead of its October 6th release, Neil Kleid's new horror novel, 'Return to the Motherfreaking Fun Factory,' has had its feature film rights optioned by North of Moorpark. The novel centers on a chilling premise: ten years ago, five children were lured into a toymaker's horrifying factory, forced into a twisted competition where lives were at stake.
Now, four of those survivors, described as morally ambiguous young adults, are returning to the factory. Their mission is twofold: to exact revenge on the insane toymaker and to rescue their fifth group member, who had 'won' the original contest but was left behind.
Russell Hollander and Aisling Lynch will produce the film adaptation for North of Moorpark. They will collaborate with Josh Stanton and Brendan Deneen of Blackstone Publishing. Blackstone Publishing established its film and TV division in 2021 and has since been active in setting up numerous book and short story adaptations.
