The André Øvredal-directed horror film, 'Passenger,' is set to release on May 22, 2026, strategically positioned over the Memorial Day weekend. This date change moves the film from its original May 29 release.
'Passenger' will contend with a competitive slate, including Disney/Lucasfilm's 'The Mandalorian & Grogu' and NEON's comedy 'I Love Boosters.' The narrative centers on a young couple whose van life adventure turns terrifying after they witness a fatal accident.
Their encounter unleashes a relentless demonic stalker. This entity pursues them relentlessly, creating a suspenseful and high-stakes plot. Paramount's recent success with 'Scream 7,' which debuted to $63.6 million domestically and $97.2 million globally, sets a high benchmark for franchise openings this year.
