Worldwide distribution rights have been secured for the throwback slasher film "213 Bones," a project steeped in 1990s nostalgia. The Horror Collective, owned by Studio Dome, will handle global distribution, with plans to sell territory rights at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.
Set in 1993, the film centers on a group of college students in the Pacific Northwest who become the targets of a masked killer. As the murders escalate, the survivors must race to unmask their assailant before they fall victim.
"213 Bones" pays homage to iconic teen slashers like "Scream" and "Urban Legend" with its ensemble-driven narrative and stylized kills. The soundtrack features notable 90s alternative artists, enhancing its retro appeal. The project was directed by the late Jeffrey Primm, who passed away shortly after its completion. Shaked Berenson of Studio Dome highlighted the film's commercial appeal and distinct slasher identity.
The distinctive masked killer design by Jason Baker, known for his work on "The Black Phone" and "Terrifier 3," further solidifies the film's marketability.
