Sony is expanding its popular Horizon franchise with a new cooperative action game titled "Horizon Hunters Gathering." Developed by franchise creator Guerrilla, this title is slated for release on PlayStation 5 and PC.
The game allows up to three players to join forces as heroic Hunters, tasked with protecting their world from an onslaught of deadly machines. Combat is designed to be tactical, reactive, and skill-based, blending the precision of the Horizon series with the dynamics of team play. Players can select from a roster of Hunters, each with distinct play styles, and customize them with roles, perks, and upgrades.
"Horizon Hunters Gathering" will feature a narrative campaign where each Hunter has their own motivations and personal struggles. The core gameplay loop centers on challenging and replayable hunts. Two initial game modes showcased are "Machine Incursion," a high-intensity mission with waves of machines and a boss, and "Cauldron Descent," a multi-stage trial with variable rooms and escalating challenges.
