A standout installation was an eight-meter-tall banyan tree lantern, crafted by artisans from Nanjing, symbolizing the cycle of life. This event, which opened on September 17, saw families and individuals enjoying the vibrant displays.
Due to overwhelming public response, the lantern show's duration was extended by a week, now running until October 4. This extension allowed more residents and visitors, like those from Yuen Long and mainland China, to witness the impressive lantern designs.
The event provided a lively atmosphere for celebrating the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival, a time for reunion, moon gazing, and enjoying mooncakes. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department also hosted a concurrent Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival.
