The 2026 Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) celebrated a wide array of film projects, with three distinct works each earning two accolades. The event, which ran from March 17-19, saw significant industry engagement.
Dr. Wilfred Wong, chair of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society, noted HAF's role in facilitating over 250 completed films throughout its history. This year's forum attracted over 500 submissions from 70 countries, leading to the selection of 46 projects.
More than 1,300 meetings were facilitated between filmmakers and industry representatives. Significant prize money totaling $360,000 was distributed across 25 awards, supported by new sponsors such as Thailand's Kantana Holdings and mainland China's Phenom Films.
The forum also introduced Asian Stories - Next Gen, a new feature film initiative, and announced mentors for the 2026 Asian Short Film Fund, highlighting a commitment to developing new talent and projects.
