Courtney Love Hints at Hole Reunion: What's Next?

Courtney Love has ignited speculation about a potential Hole reunion tour with recent social media activity. She posted a video featuring bassist Melissa Auf der Maur, set to the band's 1998 song "Malibu," and cryptically captioned it, "So do we tell the kids about the tour." Auf der Maur’s equally ambiguous response further fueled these rumors.

Adding to the buzz, Love reposted a throwback photo from the Chateau Marmont, showing herself, Auf der Maur, and guitarist Eric Erlandson posing before the release of their 1998 album "Celebrity Skin." This comes shortly after Love made comments hinting at a return to Hole while performing with Billie Joe Armstrong’s cover band.

Fans have long hoped for a Hole reunion since the band's initial disbandment in 2002, followed by a reformed lineup from 2009 to 2012. Love has historically been ambivalent about reuniting, notably dismissing the possibility in a 2021 interview. Meanwhile, Auf der Maur is preparing to release her memoir on March 17, and a documentary on Love premiered earlier this year at Sundance.
