Singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya revealed his distinctive music label business model, Himesh Reshammiya Melodies, in a recent conversation. He explained that he pays producers to acquire music rights, even foregoing his composer fees and adding further payment for these rights. This model is currently being applied to his work on Sooraj Barjatya's upcoming film, Yeh Prem Mol Liya, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari.
Reshammiya has also secured music rights for other anticipated films like Veer Pahariya-starrer Naam - To Live Is War, the Emraan Hashmi-starrer Gunmaaster G9, Anil Sharma's Arjun Naga, and Vikram Bhatt's horror film 1920: Cold Winter. He acknowledged that this unconventional approach might lead to losing some film projects, as filmmakers may expect higher prices for music rights, but he expressed contentment with his current position and a lack of insecurity.
Regarding negotiations for Yeh Prem Mol Liya, Reshammiya stated that while the Barjatyas initially suggested he focus solely on composing, he presented his payment model. He emphasized clear communication and commitment, assuring them that his songs would remain with his label. He highlighted the importance of creative clarity preceding financial agreements and fulfilling promises with sincerity.
