On October 10, 2025, Ashley Tisdale, the actress who famously portrayed the character of Sharpay in the Disney High School Musical franchise, took to TikTok to share her thoughts on a recent 'Bop to the Top' performance on 'Dancing With the Stars'.
The performance was part of the show's Disney Night, with Pentatonix singer Kevin Hoying and his dance partner Alexis Arnold taking on the challenge of dancing salsa to the beloved song. Tisdale, who is 40 years old as of the current date, watched the routine on her phone and was impressed by the pair's execution of the choreographed moves from the original High School Musical film.
However, the actress admitted that it felt "weird" to hear someone other than her singing the iconic track. Tisdale starred in all three High School Musical movies, which were released between 2006 and 2008, and has been open in the past about not wanting to reprise the role of Sharpay, fearing she wouldn't be able to do the character justice.
Despite her initial hesitation, Tisdale's reaction to the 'Dancing With the Stars' performance was generally positive. Hoying and Arnold's efforts earned them a score of 21 out of 30 points from the judges, allowing them to remain in the competition. Hilaria Baldwin and Gleb Savchenko were ultimately eliminated that night.
